The members of Ngāti Tamainupō who live, work, and are part of the communities within the pouwhenua of Ngāti Tamainupō are 15th, 16th and 17th generation descendants of Tamainupō. As a people, Ngāti Tamainupō is organised in the following traditional and contemporary structures:
